My “rules” for a happy midlife and beyond

If you’re like me, the phrase “those are the rules” starts me running in the opposite direction. I immediately look for a way to push back, rebel, or find another way, just to prove the “enforcer” wrong.

I know – not the most mature reaction. View Post

How life continues to evolve . . . or, my first quarter report

Here I am, a full three months into what I’ve been referring to as “off career.” I can see that term becoming a bit cumbersome, so I’m trying to warm up to the “R” word. We’ll see.

At any rate, I thought it would be a good idea to take each quarter of the first year and do a little review. Taking a look in the rear view mirror as they say to see how things are shaping up. Taking the Leap!

Well, here goes nothing. I’m…retired? Holy cow. That can’t be right. How did I get to “that place” already? It appears to be true, however.

Feeling a little insecure, excited, lost, adventurous, happy, sad…confused.

So many things I want to do and explore. Places to go. People to see. But I want to nest, too. Stay home – garden, cook, work out, more yoga, more fashion…and no schedules.

Will there be a new me emerging? If so, what happens to the “old” me? And what was wrong with her? Oh geez…you get my drift (into space)? View Post
